The NSE Nifty50 index ended 70.61 points down at 25057.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 152.93 points at 81820.12.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.35%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.93%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.52%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.28%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.04%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.92%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.77%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.71%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.68%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.5%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
