The banking index, after holding the shore in the early hours of the day’s trade, also declined by about 0.50%.
And it’s not just the marquee indices; the broader market also felt the heat, as the small-cap and midcap indices slumped by over 1%, making the overall decline in the day’s trade far more widespread.
The shares of Genmark shot up 10%. The Zee Entertainment stocks tanked by 4.04%. After the results, the shares of TCS and Tata Elxsi declined significantly.
This is in addition to the Nifty IT, which is trading under pressure, with major stocks including Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro, and Coforge all trading in red.
When we look at the broader markets, the indices are trading under pressure. The small-cap and mid-cap indices are trading in red, with small-cap seeing a major sell-off.
