Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.74% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.06 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.74 per cent at 23293.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 171.15 points at 24800.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 425.5 points at 81075.86.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, NALCO, YES Bank and RVNL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Banaras Beads, Dhani Services, Asian Hotels(E), Manba Finance and Nalwa Sons Invst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Akshar Spintex, MEP Infrastructure, SecUR Credentials, Lancor Holdings and Narmada Agrobase hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
