LAHORE : A fascinating exhibition of paintings titled Palette of Emotions by Karachi and Lahore artists opened at Coopera Art Gallery.
Chairman, National Artists Association, Mian Ijaz ul Hassan inaugurated it. Twelve from Karachi and 14 artists from Lahore hung their intriguing plus five dozen artworks on the walls of the gallery. The artists portrayed their inspiration on the canvasses ranging from Landscape to figurative subjects. They used different mediums and idioms by creating meaningful and striking impressions.
This is perhaps the first time that Coopera Art Gallery has brought together substantial number of artists from Karachi and Lahore under one roof.
This exhibition featured artworks by G Abbas Kamangar, Mehtab Ali, Nisar Ahmad, Saleem Akhtar, Zafar Mehmood, G.N Qazi, Aliya Faizi, Aniqa Fatima, Abbas Khaskheli, Eram Riaz, Fauzia Khan and Sharjil Baloch from Karachi and Dr Ajaz Anwar, Muhammad Javed, Ghulam Mustafa, Mahboob Ali, Saeed Ahmad, Munawar Mohiuddin, Saqib Akhtar, Robina Nadeem, Maham Mahboob, Maria Daniyal, Madiha Iram, Arshad Maqbool, Shumaila Khan and Ayesha Yasir from Lahore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mian Ijaz ul Hasan said that Pakistan is blessed with beautiful landscapes, valleys, historical heritage and cultural traditions, which captivate the artists. Hence, they have produced beautiful and vibrant paintings. He not only praised the work of the artists but also highly appreciated the efforts of the Coopera Art Gallery, which is involved in promoting art and literature since long.
A large number of artists, students and art lovers were present at the inaugural ceremony and praised the exhibition, which will remain open for the public till October 30 except holidays.
