Mosaic artist, Paulene Attard, recently opened her gallery in Attard for all to witness a mix of colours and textures.
Attard is no stranger to exhibitions as she has been participating through her mosaics and paintings in solo or group exhibitions for the last 20 years or so.
She is now solely working on mosaics since they are her true passion and opened her gallery in Attard to have her work on display for a longer period of time.
Attard’s passion for mosaics comes from a love for their colour and texture. She also loves the fact that creating mosaics involved cutting the tesserae by hand and letting her creativity come to life.
The artist expressed her gratitude for family members, friends and tradespersons who have been instrumental to this chapter in her artistic journey.
Apart from the decorative mosaics, her current exhibition shows around 80 pieces from small functional items such as mirrors, bowls, planters, coffee tables, to decorative objects d’Art to statement wall hangings and sculptures.
“I hope to get more people to Attard to visit my gallery, to get to know me and to learn about my passion for mosaics. I want visitors to appreciate this very old art form and be able to sit down with me and have a drink and learn about why I love mosaicking so much,” Attard told Lovin Malta.
